Yes I know I'm a bad blogger. Can I just say in my defense that I will have read a total of eleven novels this semester(that's 4 months, and not pop novels I'm talking Virginia Wolf and Graham Greene type novels)? AND have written a 12-20 page short story! I feel that I've been really productive even if I haven't been blogging. I still plan on reading Les Mis by the end of the year, or some of it at this rate. I've signed up for summer classes, so that's gonna put a dampener on my extracurricular reading :( Which is really sad because I've developed a fondness for Gothic Novels like Frankenstein and The Monk. The language is amazing in these books, I can't put them down once I start!!
I've also been reading some teen-lit, mostly because it's so easy to read I can get it done quickly. One novel is Beautiful Creatures, the language is very visual and I love the relationship between the two main characters. It's also told from a boys perspective, which is a nice change.
The other novel is Beastly, a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, which is my favorite fairy tale. It's set in New York, but other than that it follows the original story exactly.
And that's about it for me, I realized that the "poster" for Bright Star on my blog is perfect now that that is where my literary interests lay!!
