Wednesday Wish You Were Here

YAY!!! It's that time of the week! And because I'm on Spring Break I have decided to have an Island theme Wednesday Wish You Were Here. Ah, but not the same ole' same ole' Bahamas or Caribbean Islands, I'm talking about the Golden Islands of Georgia!!!
The Golden Islands of Georgia have long been the retreats of the rich and elite. According to the font of all knowlege, Wikipedia, Sea Island hosted the G8 summit. But my favorite island has to be Cumberland Island.
It is actually not truly a part of the Golden Islands but, I mean, it's right there. Anyway, Cumberland Island is a national park and has a set limit on the number of people allowed to visit each day. The coolest part about Cumberland Island, in my opinion, is the wild horses. These horses were shipwrecked by the Spanish in the 16th century or so, when Florida was still a Spanish Colony. The horses on the ship managed to swim to Cumberland Island and their survivors are there to this day.
The island has a visitor limit of 300 people a day, you can rent a bicycle to tour the island but beware, there are no paved roads.

Song of the day:

could you be loved - bob marley
