In which it is late and all through the house not a creature was stirring... except for me!

Hello everyone!!!! Wow, so much for the idea that I would blog all summer long:( My only saving grace is that I have been reading voraciously. I've read so many books I don't know where to begin!

First, let me say that I have read Lover Avenged. It is the story of Rhevenge, vampire drug lord/pimp/nightclub owner extraordinaire in Caldwell. He is also part sympath, a breed that is cold calculating and confined to a camp upstate to keep the general population safe. He meets Ehlena, a nurse at the local vampire hospital, and they start a thing. While their relationship is still blossoming, Rhevenge's secret comes out and he must make Ehlena hate him in order to save her.

Now, that is absolutely the bare bones of the story. Because, unlike her other books where there are at most three voices; this book has at least seven! And there was so much going on; drama with the royal couple, teenagers being bratty and long lost friends drowning in grief. The whole effect left me wondering whose story was supposed to be told. Yet having said all of that, I have read it twice and loved the addition it made to The Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

I'm afraid I have given up on the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries. They don't hold the appeal that they once did. Sookie and Bob are not growing as characters and more characters are being thrown in to the fray. Basically, burned me out.

Next is the latest Jaquelyn Frank book!! It centers around the head priest of the Night Walkers, Magnes, and his new Handmaiden. She had been a slave in her aunt and uncles' house when Magnes called her to Sanctuary. Together they have to battle evil within the palace as well as their own personal demons. It was a decent book but I am really looking forward to her story of Malaya, the princess and her bodygaurd Guinn. That one promises to be fabulous!

Those are the highlights of my summer reading, I have also started up my beading and crochet again, so that will mean lots of crafty fun! Talk to you guys later!!

I don't even know what happened!

I don't know what happened! I think my subconscious decided I needed a break from the blogging world.

Anyway, I'm very excited because as the summer approaches so do the releases of some new books in my favorite series.

From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris March 31 (yes, I know it's today)

Dead and Gone
Charlaine Harris May 5

Ashes of Midnight Lara Adrian May 26

Lover Avenged J.R. Ward April 28!!!!! (this one I am UBER excited about)

Skin Trade Laurell K. Hamilton June 2

Rapture Jaquelyn Frank June 30

So you can see, once the end of April hits, I'll have a book come out every two weeks that I want to read!! It's almost embarrassing, the way most of them are romances. Oh well, don't judge!!!

Restless

I must have the Spring Break Blues, or Spring Fever 'cause I just can't sit still and get anything done. I had every intention of beginning Sookie Stackhouse #6 when I got home form work today but I just couldn't make myself sit down and read it. Then I was going to try and Crochet while watching a movie with my sister, but it was a movie I hadn't seen so I actually had to pay attention. Now I'm trying out the crochet thing again. I just feel the need to do something with my hands.
However, the book I'm using is a little off. It's called Creepy Cute Crochet and it's full of little monsters and things you can crochet, but I think the author uses her own shorthand for the stitches because I can't understand some of them.

Anyway, I think I'm going to take a break from vampire mystery/romance. At least until Lover Avenged! I bought this book at work today, it's called Into the Fire and it's by Suzanne Brockmann. It's very good from the few pages I was able to read while at work.

Ugh... Fail.

I went on my break at work, all excited to start what I thought was the sixth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series only to discover that it is in fact the seventh! I stopped reading at once, but still felt slightly foolish.
Oh darn! I guess that means another trip to the bookstore!
And speaking of bookstores, I'm so glad Borders has coupons now! I took one that I got today for 30% off and bought a Putumayo C.D. Putumayo is a record company that specializes in music from around the world. I have several of their C.D's already and was very excited to add their New Orleans album to my collection.

SPRING BREAK!!!!

The tests have been taken, the papers turned in and it's time to go on vacation!!! Well, some of us will go on vacation, others will go to work same as usual and work on the assignments our professors were kind enough to give us for the break :..(
I have two papers due the week we get back from spring break, can you believe it?! But don't fret! I do plan on having some fun while not in school. There is a college night at the local museum next Wednesday that I plan on going to, and of course sleeping in and catching up on my reading.

I plan on reading All Together Dead #7 in the Sookie Stackhouse books, and getting more into American G-ds by Neil Gaiman. I bought this book a while ago and what I've read is pretty good but my mind has been with vampires and shapeshifters!
Sinse the South is on my mind, todays song of the day pays tribute to the famous river of the South, the Mississippi.
